Through its services, Cutter Associates enables clients to achieve their goals in a cost effective and efficient way for systems and operations planning, data management strategies, systems selection, and implementations.
Challenge: CutterResearch, the research arm of Cutter Associates, helps keep asset management firms informed and up to date on a wide range of investment processing issues. 3,500 investment systems professionals, from over 180 firms, form a powerful network where members share hands-on experiences about systems, practices, and resolutions to challenging problems.
Additionally, Cutter Associates keeps clients informed with the latest research findings through member meetings and webcast meetings. In order to make these meetings as informative and effective as possible, CutterResearch relies on feedback and evaluation from its attendees. CutterResearch determined that the needs of its members would best be served through a survey solution that could gather input from clients quickly and easily.
Solution: Prior to selecting Vovici EFM Feedback in early 2007, CutterResearch used another survey tool, but felt it lacked certain key features and did not fit the business requirements of CutterResearch.

Vovici EFM Feedback is being used as a key method for gathering data for its research topics and with a response rate that ranges from 30-50%, CutterResearch is receiving a high return from its participants. The Research team also has the option to view the survey responses in real-time as they are submitted. With many of the surveys containing free-form responses, this helps them stay on top of results.
Results:The real-time view of survey responses and the ability to quickly run analysis and reports help the Research team determine how to improve and adjust their presentations. Each meeting is improved for the attendees and Cutter Associates’ members are receiving the benefits of the feedback given by others.
More importantly, the CutterResearch team is able to maintain a complete history of its surveys and the results, which help meet their ultimate business goal—providing up-to-date, in-depth research into the business topics that are critical for the success of more than 180 asset management clients.
